Fforest Farmhouse is a restored 16th century Welsh Longhouse, offering 21st century comfort and convenience, all powered by green technologies.
Close to Abergavenny and Crickhowell in the Black Mountains, the farmhouse is in the Brecon Beacons National Park and the International Dark Skies reserve. The mountains, woodland and rivers surround us with an ever changing range of wildlife.

Great walks in beautiful countryside
We stayed in May half term and enjoyed the beautiful cottage with hot tub under the stars. We came without a car so were pleased to find so many beautiful hikes direct from the house – and even managed a very brief dip in the river. The farmhouse has everything you need and is very cosy., thanks to Jackie and Ian for a very relaxing stay.
Brilliant Christmas stay
Our Christmas stay at the farmhouse was everything we hoped for. Welcomed on arrival on Christmas Eve by Rachel who was covering whilst Jackie and Ian were away. Hot tub was heated and Prosecco in fridge made a great start to our 3 night stay. The farmhouse was cosy with fairy lights on the beams and we each loved our rooms. We were blessed with sunny but chilly weather. On Christmas Day we walked up Sugar Loaf Mountain ( an easy to follow route from the house). All in all a memorable Xmas.
Ffabulous Fforest Ffarmhouse
This must be by far the best place we have stayed, by a long way. Beautiful, peaceful, spacious, spotlessly clean with a well-equipped kitchen, an ideal retreat for a family get-together.
Jackie and Ian are friendly and welcoming hosts, but not intrusive, occasionally making sure we had everything we needed.
We luxuriated (frequently!) in the log-fired hot tub, cooked leisurely meals together, sampled the local walks, listened to birdsong – 7 different species recorded on my phone app in 30 seconds in the not-quite-dawn chorus, with lots of other birds observed flying around – and relaxed in the comfortable living space.
We’ll be back, I was asked by my family to book it again soon!
Peaceful oasis
Jackie & Ian were wonderful hosts. They check that you have settled in ok then leave you to enjoy the blissful peace & quiet.
The farmhouse has everything you need for a relaxing stay including a hot tub which was very welcome after doing many of the stunning walks accessible locally.
The market town of Abergavenny is only a twenty minute drive away with a good range of independent shops & supermarkets.
Apart from the rare vehicle going by the only noise is of birds & the river below.
Will definitely be back.
Beautiful farmhouse, very welcoming hosts
My three girlfriends and I had a great time at Fforest Farmhouse this past weekend – Jackie and Ian were wonderful and welcoming hosts. The farmhouse was beautiful and we had a very comfortable stay. The hot tub was a highlight and had a gorgeous view from over the Valley. The house was close to Abergavenny centre which was very practical. Thank you for a lovely stay
